RMC's role during the 2008 Xenophobic Attacks

During the xenophobic attacks of May 2008, RMC partnered with Ekurhuleni Poverty Alleviation and the Metropolitan to reintergrate the displaced foreign nationals sheltered at the Rand Airport.

RMC played a leading role in negotiating long term solutions for refugees and asylum seekers during the xenophobic attacks of May 2008, together with successful prevention of early closure of refugees' temporary shelters by the government.

RMC  partnered with the Anglican and Methodist Churches during the 2008 Xenophobic attacks and mobilised food and non-food items that were distributed to some of the displaced refugees and asylum seekers housed in temporary shelters in Johannesburg.
